Ian Meldrum started his insurance career with Mutual & Federal and after about 10 years joined the brokering market where he has been for the past 23 years. Ian offers all forms of short-term insurance services with respect to
personal / commercial / property / engineering / marine / liability insurance-related products.

Nick Shutte joined the insurance industry in 1996, and has a mixture of Corporate & Commercial, Financial Lines and more recently Agri & Domestic insurance. Throughout his career he has been involved in underwriting and broking and has lived twice in Johannesburg & Cape Town throughout his career. Some of Nick’s previous roles include Divisional Account Director at Glenrand MIB Financial Markets, Managing Director at PI Financial Risk Services, Head of Financial Lines at Zurich Insurance Company and Strategic Account Manager at Aon SA Cape Town. Nick joined STP in July 2019 and brings a wealth of Corporate & Specialty experience to STP. His qualifications include AIISA, FIISA (Fellow of IISA), Higher Diploma in Business Management at Damelin Management School and he is completing his 3rd year BCompt Financial Accounting through UNISA. He never stops learning and is passionate about specialist insurance, digital automation and is a Microsoft Excel expert & VBA programmer.

Ryan has been in the insurance industry for 15 years, after graduating with a BCom in Economics. Ryan’s main focus is on building strong, lasting relationships with his clients. He seeks to fully understand his client’s business needs, and to walk a road with them, allowing them the peace of mind to operate their business with freedom, knowing their risks are covered. My specialties are domestic, commercial and hospitality industries, as well as insurance for schools.

Chandre Stemmers is an accomplished insurance professional with extensive experience in the industry. She began her career as a marine underwriter and has since moved into broking, where her current role involves generating new clients and servicing her portfolio.

Chandre’s commitment to professional development is evident from the various qualifications she has obtained over the years, including a Bachelor of Commerce in Short Term Insurance from Milpark Business School. She is also actively involved in the Insurance Institute of Western Cape, where she has served as the Head of U35’s and is currently the President of the IIWC.

Chandre’s dedication to mentoring and developing young professionals in the industry is admirable, and her involvement in the IIWC Rise program is a testament to her commitment to giving back. Overall, Chandre Stemmer’s passion for the insurance industry, dedication to professional development, and commitment to giving back make her an asset to her clients, colleagues, and community.

LeRoy has 15 years of experience in the Insurance industry. When he was working as a commercial underwriter, he used his knowledge and experience on the various types of risk to choose the best-suited insurance products for his clients.

As the newest addition to STP’s team of Portfolio Managers, he is ready to demonstrate his adept skills and abilities by being on the frontline of the business and upholding the company image by delivering proficient service to prospective clients. His goal as an insurance broker is to provide accurate, reliable information, prompt responses and helpful advice.

Jacques Badenhorst began his career with Auto & General in 1999.

He later fulfilled various team sales manager roles within the Telesure Investment Holdings Organization which included managing the Commercial, eCommerce and Hippo Sales Teams.

In 2013, Jacques entered the broking industry with the intent to provide service of an exceptional standard with the main focus on business continuity for his clients.

Jacques boasts extensive knowledge and experience on a wide array of specialist insurance products, including but not limited to, professional liability for medical professionals, trucking, agriculture assets & crop insurance, construction risks etc.

Jacques holds a Bcom in Insurance from Milpark.

Sage Baloyi is a dedicated insurance professional with a dynamic career trajectory, beginning as one of our graduates on the STP graduate program and moving into commercial underwriting before transitioning into her current role as Junior Portfolio Manager. She holds an undergraduate degree in finance & accounting and a postgraduate diploma in risk management and is presently pursuing a masters’ degree. Sage is an associate of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA), reflecting her commitment to excellence in the industry.

Her passion for continuous learning drives her to actively seek opportunities to expand her knowledge and skill set to ensure that clients financial needs are met with tailored solutions. Sage is deeply committed to her professional development and staying at the forefront of the insurance and risk landscape.
